Project Summary
Building off the successful model of University of New Hampshire (UNH) Extension’s,
New Hampshire Invasives Academy, and the momentum from UNH’s and Rockingham
Planning Commission’s recent project engaging residents of Seabrook in Evaluating Dune
Walkways, UNH will expand the Invasive Academy’s model of public training and
technical assistance to include Coastal Dune Invasive species. UNH will partner with
Rockingham Planning Commission again for this project, to develop new resources for
management of invasives in coastal sand dunes (Action 2.4-2) and to host a series of
workshops for private landowners (Action 4.4-1), community volunteers, and municipal
boards and staff. Trainings will focus on identifying invasive plant species and offering
strategies for effective management, with the goal of empowering community members
and professionals to better manage invasive dune species in Seabrook (Action 1.3-1).
