Project Description

Building on the Seacoast Science Center’s community-based kayak tours and education initiatives, and in alignment with the EMP’s focus on public education & stewardship, this project will support continued youth engagement through no-cost kayak-based estuary excursions to engage over 210 students across the estuary’s surrounding communities. This will include excursions with students from: Seabrook Middle School, with the new collaboration with Lincoln Akerman School (Hampton Falls), and Winnacunnet High School (Regional). These guided tours connect students with the ecological services of the estuary, introduce them to the species that depend on this habitat, and raise awareness about key environmental challenges impacting estuarine health to foster a deeper public understanding of the HSE and promote long-term stewardship (Action 5.7-5).
