Protecting Seabrook’s Sand Dunes: Managing Invasive Plants
Seabrook is home to NH’s largest, most intact sand dune system, which plays a critical role in protecting the coastline, supporting wildlife and providing valuable habitat. Learning to managing invasive plants will helping preserve this unique ecosystem.
Join Seabrook-Hampton Estuary Alliance and experts from UNH Extension for an interactive workshop on managing invasive plants commonly found in Seabrook’s sand dunes.
What you’ll learn:
· Dune ecology and how humans impact them;
· How to get started with managing invasive plants;
· Removal strategies for different plants;
After about an hour and a half of presentations, participants will drive to Seabrook Beach (directions & parking provided) and join the experts for a walk, talking through the invasive plants and management strategies in the field.
The workshop begins at 1:oo pm and will run until 4:30 pm
