A virtual presentation and discussion about salt marsh ditching. We will explore the history behind why ditching occurred and view some of the tools used to create the ditches. We’ll learn about the unintended impacts of these efforts and hear from local experts on salt marsh habitat and ecology about techniques being used to help restore these areas. Our guest speakers include Dr. David Burdick and Dr. Gregg Moore, UNH Associate Research Professors; Dr. Alyson Eberhardt, Coastal Ecosystems Specialist with NH Sea Grant & UNH Extension; Kevin Lucey, Habitat Coordinator for NHDES Coastal Program; and Eric Small, President of the Seabrook Historical Society and Author.
