Seabrook Middle School – 6th grade exploration on the salt marsh

SHEA partnered with Seabrook Middle School staff, and Sergio Bonilla, a Wetlands and Wildlife Ecologist with Mission Wetlands, to develop a program to get sixth-grade students into the salt marsh adjacent to the school for a hands-on learning session. This educational event included a classroom presentation on plants of the salt marsh, field identification activities, observational note-taking, and discussions about the value of becoming active “community scientists”.
